GEDDY LEES main and most cherished bass is the 1972 Fender Jazz he bought in a Kalamazoo, Michigan, pawnshop for $200 see main story. What he likes best about it is its low end. “My particular Jazz Bass has more bottom than the average Jazz Bass,” Lee says, “though I dont know why.” It could be for several reasons. “I put a Badass bridge on it, tt says Lee, “so it doesnt have a stock Fender bridge. And its got a very thin maple neck. Its made of alder wood, which Fender used for a short period of time, and its a very hard wood. I also suspect theres a wiring problem, but I wont let them take it apart to find out because I dont want it changed.”
